SECTEI 2021 DEVELOPS THREE SCIENTIFIC EVENTS

ESPOCH, UNACH and the Municipality of Riobamba inaugurated the Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week - SECTEI 2021. This new edition begins with the VIII International Congress of Science and Technology that runs from November 8 to 10. The VII Workshop will be held from November 16 to 18 and on December 2 and 3 the I Virtual Science and Technology Contest will be held.

SECTEI has become the most important scientific and academic space in the center of the country. Researchers, teachers, students and entrepreneurs gather at this event to share their academic work and ideas for development and innovation.

The activities begin with the VIII International Congress of Science and Technology, an event of scientific and cultural dissemination, reviewed and approved by blind peers. National and international academics will present their work in areas of: Engineering, Technology, Basic Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Life and Environmental Sciences, Social and Administrative Sciences.

The international congress will have 14 keynote conferences with experts from universities in Great Britain, Paraguay, Spain, the Czech Republic, the United States, Panama, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador. Next week, from November 16 to 18, the VII Workshop will be held, a space for socializing the results of research from higher education institutions.

In addition, the I Virtual Science and Technology Contest is being held, in this event students and entrepreneurs will be able to present their innovation projects focused on economic and social development. The best projects will be selected and presented on December 2. The three best projects will be awarded with a seed capital granted by the Municipality of Riobamba, 7 thousand dollars for first place, 5 thousand for second place and 3,000 for third place.

Ing. Byron Vaca Ph.D. Rector of ESPOCH, highlighted the articulated work to organize this event, after a year of pandemic. "The SECTEI is a space that seeks to generate proposals and development alternatives for our society and it is essential to work collectively to find ideas that generate new sources of work and production," he concluded.

Dr. Irene Gavilanez Ph.D. Administrative Vice Chancellor, participated with her research in composting, co-composting of plant waste and manure, soil bioremediation, among others.

Thus begins the Week of Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation - SECTEI 2021, which this year has included the participation of the Corporation of Chambers of Production of Chimborazo, with the aim that academic and scientific knowledge has a greater impact on the post-pandemic economic reactivation.
