ESPOCH received a visit from Engineer Byron López, representative of SERTECPET and Engineer Diego Sánchez, manager of the manufacturing plant of this company. The objective of this meeting was to know the projects in which the Faculty of Mechanics works and to establish future collaborations and technical consultancies. ESPOCH and SERTECPET maintain an inter-institutional cooperation agreement that has allowed the participation of students in pre-professional internship programs, development of degree work and training projects. Eng. Marco Almendariz, dean of the Faculty of Mechanics, explains that the next step in this inter-institutional collaboration is to plan manufacturing and industrial production projects. Currently, the Faculty of Mechanics has technological laboratories for practice, experimentation and research on topics related to the automotive industry, industry 4.0, industrial maintenance and automated production. The foray into these areas of knowledge creates the possibility of establishing industrial projects with a business vision. For this reason, the collaboration of SERTECPET is sought, a leading company in technological innovation and industrial processes, internationally recognized for its know-how. Eng. Byron López, a member of this business group, indicated that there is all availability to work with ESPOCH on projects that can generate industry. Ing. Diego Sánchez, manager of the SERTECPET manufacturing plant, described that with the appropriate equipment, ESPOCH can enter multiple areas of the industry, such as the manufacture and manufacture of auto parts, prosthetics, tools, and other products that are not they produce in the country due to lack of technology. The institutional authorities share this vision of generating industrial projects that take advantage of all the human talent that is trained in the ESPOCH while generating sustainable development for the country.
